Drinking Your Dessert Just Got Easier With This Apple Pie-Inspired Cocktail

One thing I look forward to during the holiday season is festive twists on classic cocktails. One of my go-to cocktails is the classic Old Fashioned, but I really love changing it up with seasonal flavors.

This riff on an Old Fashioned has whiskey, apple cider syrup and a couple dashes of bitters. Substituting in a seasonal sweetener really makes flavor notes stand out. The result? Stunning pops of apple, reminiscent of apple pie.

Take it up even more with an apple fan garnish. You can modify this recipe with all kinds of variations, like spiced honey or cinnamon syrup, to really get your festive on.

The apple cider syrup can be made by heating up equal parts of sugar and apple cider on the stove until the sugar is dissolved. After that, cool the mixture and you are ready to use.
