The whiskey sour is one of my all-time favorite cocktails. The classic itself is so good and I love the option of adding an egg white if the mood hits.
Recently, while hosting a virtual happy hour, a participant mentioned that their favorite version of a whiskey sour included sherry. I immediately knew that I had to make a version of the cocktail because I love sherry.
For this recipe, I grabbed a bottle of Fino sherry. This sherry has herbal and almond notes, as well as bourbon that is finished in sherry staves just to take it up a notch. I also decided to add honey syrup instead of the standard simple syrup to bring in some earthiness.
This whiskey sour exceeded all my expectations, and now I refer to this cocktail as the favorite whiskey sour.
