Yes, Port Wine Can Be An Apéritif

The spritz cocktail is one of my favorites for the summer because it is so refreshing and can be made low-ABV. Inspired by a trip to Portugal, this spritz uses white port as the base with a versatile mixer of either tonic or soda water.

White port has a gorgeous golden hue and tasting notes vary from honey to citrus to apples. This spritz is the perfect drink for summer and will become your go to especially when making drinks at home with friends.

And since this cocktail only has two ingredients, the garnish game was taken up a notch. I used a cucumber peel and fresh blackberries to make this look as elegant as it tastes. White port also blends well with fresh herbs as well as citrus, making it as easy to garnish as it is to sip.
