Barista Spirits Enters The Market With Coffee-Inspired Whiskey

Established gin brand, Deviation Distilling, is debuting a new spin on coffee-flavored spirits with its latest brand, Barista Spirits. Blending whiskey lovers with coffee enthusiasts, the experienced gin distillers are taking their chances on rolling out a complex brown spirit with an approachable feel.

The brand consists of three whiskies: Americano Whiskey, which is a bourbon whiskey paired with Guatemalan coffee beans; Aztec Whiskey, a rye whiskey paired with Ethiopian coffee, Saigon cinnamon and Madagascar vanilla beans; and Mocha Whiskey, paired with Brazilian coffee and chocolate.

For Barista Spirits, Deviation partnered with local purveyors, using barrels from Oskar Blues and cacao shells from Cultura Chocolate in its Mocha Whiskey. Each of the three whiskies is made with hand selected and roasted coffee from Copper Door Coffee Roasters, the next door neighbor of the distillery.

“We have been wanting to release a brown spirit for quite some time, and made the plunge by bucking the trend of needing to release a non-flavored whiskey before a flavored whiskey,” said Bob Wiley, Deviation Distilling co-owner and founder.
